OK ladies,

I need your help. I can't cook and have no idea what I can freeze etc lmao

I'm thinking I can make:

shepards pie deffo.... may use something else instead of potatoes???? Will make extra mince and keep that to have with boiled rice one evening.....

Was also thinking fish pie but never made it before and if I'm making shepards pie, maybe one to keep back for the min....

I'm going to buy fish and cook it all at once, then put the leftover fish (salmon) with some pasta for a lunch or two that week....

Any other ideas? Help with cooking? all of the above I wouldn't normally freeze but would put in the fridge to use up.... does it need to be frozen?

Nyk xx

Add extra veg to the shepard pie to bulk it out a bit, peas and chopped up carrotts etc. For the topping you can mash suede or sweet potato which is better for you

Homemade soup, chop veg up finely or blend. Can keep in freezer or in fridge for about a day

Use passatta instead of buying jars of dolmio type sauces. You can make things like spaghetti bolognaise with passatta chopped onions garlic etc. You can make chilli with passatta as well and also a tomato type sauce for pasta

Add peas or sweetcorn through pasta to bulk it up and get more goodness etc

Use wholegrain rice and pasta instead of white,it really helps curb my appetite because wen i start with white i cant stop

Get jars of spices/herbs for the cupboard. Chilli, garlic, mixed herbs, paprika etc can be used for your recipies but can also add to other bland things to jazz them up a bit

If ur having crackers, put them on a plate and add finely chopped tomatoes and cucumber etc. Makes you feel like your actually having something and adds to your 5 a day

Get tins of fruit made with juice not syprup and keep in fridge. I do this and means theres always something there when im low in shopping

I keep tangerines and grapes in fridge, they are good for picking at and taste nicer and last longer in fridge

ill post a couple weight watchers recipies here for you see if that helps:

vegeatble curry

5 spray low-fat cooking spray
1 large onion(s), sliced
2 clove garlic, crushed
2 medium carrot(s), sliced
1 portion stock cube, 1.2 litres (2 pints) hot water
1 medium red green or yellow pepper(s), deseeded and chopped
2 medium courgette, sliced
1/2 medium portion cauliflower, broken into florets
100 g green beans, halved
2 1/2 tablespoon Curry Paste
2 level tablespoon cornflour
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon pepper
350 g butternut squash, peeled, desseded and chopped

Instructions
Coat a large saucepan with spray cooking oil. Add onion. Sauté gently for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add garlic, cook for 1 more minute.

Add carrots, butternut squash and vegetable stock to saucepan. Bring up to the boil, then reduce the heat. Add all remaining vegetables and stir in 2-3 tablespoons of curry paste, according to taste. Cook for 15-20 minutes, until vegetables are tender.

Make raita by mixing yogurt, mint or coriander and cucumber.

Blend cornflour with 3-4 tablespoons of cold water and stir into curry. Cook for 2 minutes until thickened. Season to taste.

hearty scotch broth
115 g lamb mince, lean
25 g cooked pearl barley
1 large onion(s), finely chopped
2 medium carrot(s), finely chopped
2 quantity turnip(s), chopped
2 portion leek(s), thinly sliced
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 tablespoon parsley, chopped, to serve

Instructions
Dry fry the mince in a large saucepan for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to separate and lightly brown it. Pour on 1.2 litres (2 pints) of cold water. Bring it to the boil and then use a large, shallow spoon to remove any scum that forms on the surface.

Reduce the heat, add the pearl barley and prepared vegetables and season with salt and pepper. Cover and leave to simmer gently for 50-60 minutes.

Adjust the seasoning to taste. Stir in the parsley, ladle into warm soup bowls and serve immediately.
